Philippine Elections 2025 & the Economy: What’s at Stake?
AYUDA O KABUHAYAN?
Filipinos generally value both ayuda (financial or material assistance) and livelihood (sustainable means of income), but in the long run, livelihood is often seen as the better option. While ayuda provides immediate relief during crises, such as natural disasters or economic downturns, it is only a temporary solution. Livelihood, on the other hand, empowers individuals and families by giving them the skills, opportunities, and resources to earn a steady income and improve their quality of life. With a stable livelihood, people can become self-sufficient, contribute to the economy, and break free from dependency on government aid. Therefore, while ayuda is crucial in emergencies, investing in livelihood programs creates long-term benefits for Filipinos and the nation as a whole.
